Is Menstruation connected to the Digestive System?

Menstrual flow of a woman depends on the quality of digestion. It has been observed that those who eat dry foods or food items that absorb water like poha, chivda, farsan, sabudana, sandwich, etc end up having scanty, dark , and painful menstrual cycles.
Those with spicy food intake, liquor, late nights, non vegetarian food, irregular timings of food, hyperacidity often lead to heavy bleeding, profuse discharge that goes on for 8-10 days.

Women with high intake of yoghurt, non vegetarian food, milk and dairy products often tend to have irregular menses with pain and clots in the discharge.

Women who have a stressful job, strained relationship with the spouse or discord in the household also show a tendency to have menstrual disorders, like painful periods, irregular cycles, dark and scanty flow, pain in the abdomen during the periods or before the onset.

Regular walking exercise, strict diet devoid of the above foods and coming to terms with life in general helps to resolve these issues.
